As a Senior Therapist with LifewiseCHM, Jocelyn Onde supports the home modification process by virtually assessing the client’s home and making recommendations tailored to the client’s needs.
Recently, we connected with Jocelyn to learn more about her role at LifewiseCHM. Read below for her insights:
Describe your current role with LifewiseCHM.
As a senior therapist, I conduct virtual home modification assessments with MCO clients, assessing for physical impairments, functional limitations, and environmental barriers. I collaborate with a home modification team to develop individualized recommendations for the clients’ homes. Each proposal is tailored to the clients’ needs, promoting safety and independence in their homes.
The experiences gained as an occupational therapist, provide a different rehabilitation perspective to the home modification team. Understanding the client’s diagnosis, prognosis and functional abilities are important when recommending modifications to allow the client to age in place safely.
What is your favorite part of being part of the LifewiseCHM team?
I enjoy working with a team that shares the same goal to create a safe and comfortable environment in order to meet our clients’ needs. It is rewarding to use my occupational therapy skills and experiences in collaboration with the contract team. We develop modification plans that promote independence to empower our clients, in return allowing them to age in place at home.
What motivates you most about your focus with LifewiseCHM?

Who, or what inspires you?
Honesty, from a company perspective, I find the idea of knowing what is in front of you and having open honest communication to set a platform for good relationships based on trust inspiring.
As an OT, supporting others, empowering others and giving them the opportunity to overcome barriers they thought they could never cross is also inspiring.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Be positive and smile, it can quickly change your perspective. Even better, it can change the perspective of others.
What surprises you about your work at LifewiseCHM?
The independence and freedom to be yourself and be an active part of the team. Having the ability to voice your thoughts and recommendations to the team and receive positive, constructive feedback is a rarity in a company.
